Lenovo VIBE P1 smartphone review: battery giant

In 2021, the well-known company Lenovo decided to enter the market of budget smartphones, which would combine a low price with all the necessary functions and characteristics. Let's review the Lenovo Vibe C smartphone and see if the famous brand managed to “not fall on its face.”

Some developers of mobile devices integrate fingerprint scanners into their “state-priced” devices, others add a larger battery, and Lenovo decided to introduce 4G support. Let's see what else interesting is hidden in Vibe C.

Equipment

The smartphone is packed in a stylish black box

The smartphone is available in European and Chinese versions. The Chinese version is cheaper, but does not have a European warranty. We received a Chinese version of the smartphone, the delivery package of which includes a charger with a Chinese plug and a USB cable.

The charger current is 2 A, and it also supports Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.0 fast charging technology. This should allow you to charge your smartphone fairly quickly, but we'll talk about that a little later.

The European version includes a charger with a European plug and a headset.

Appearance

Already from the front, Lenovo Vibe P1 looks quite solid.

At the bottom of the screen there is a hardware Home button with a beautiful bezel and a built-in fingerprint sensor. To the left and right of it are the familiar Android touch buttons “Application list” and “Back”, which become visible when the backlight is on.

On the bottom edge there is a Micro-USB connector, holes for a multimedia speaker and a microphone, which give the smartphone even more solidity and some resemblance to the iPhone 5.

At the top of the screen there is an earpiece, a camera eye, an event indicator, a light and proximity sensor.

On the top edge there is a 3.5 mm audio jack and another microphone for noise reduction, and on the right there is a power button and a volume rocker.

On the left side of the smartphone there is a switch used to switch the smartphone to energy-saving mode.

The main part of the body is made of aluminum, with durable matte plastic inserts at the top and bottom, similar to the iPhone 6.

The back wall, all corners and edges of the smartphone have a rounded shape, making it very comfortable to hold the smartphone in your hands. And it looks very harmonious and stylish.

In the middle, at the top of the back wall, a camera with a dual flash is conveniently located.

This location of the camera is optimal, since it will not accidentally be blocked by your fingers when shooting.

The top plastic cover is removable; underneath there is a tray for two Nano-SIM format SIM cards and a separate slot for a microSD memory card.

As you can see, Lenovo Vibe P1 has an excellent comfortable and stylish design. Let's now look at its technical characteristics.

Simplified mode

There is a "Smart Battery Mode" option in the battery menu with no information on what exactly it does. If necessary, it can be turned on, and this will increase battery life. The aforementioned special switch, located on the left side of the smartphone, turns on the simplified mode. Activating the feature turns the background black and allows you to use only basic applications - view and send messages, make and receive calls, launch a calculator, etc. Multitasking menus disappear, but thanks to all these restrictions, battery life is significantly improved. If you need to return to normal mode, you just need to press the button again.

Screen

The smartphone is equipped with a bright and clear 5.5″ diagonal IPS screen with Full HD resolution (1920×1080). Color rendition and viewing angles are at a high level.

Additionally, it is possible to significantly increase the screen brightness when used in the sun by activating the “Smart Brightness” option in the settings. There are also many flexible contrast and color settings.

From the properties of the screen you can already guess that the smartphone is intended not only for surfing the Internet, but also for watching high-quality videos and playing games.

The touchscreen is not only highly responsive, but also allows you to use the smartphone with gloves, for which there is a special option in the settings.

The matrix and touchscreen are protected by high-quality tempered Gorilla Glass 3 with an excellent oleophobic (grease-repellent) coating.

Display

The phone has a five-inch screen, this diagonal is quite enough for normal use - text, applications and games, everything will be distinguishable. The bezels around the display, as mentioned earlier, are wider than they could be, which is why the device is larger than other 5-inch smartphones.

The resolution is only 854x480, even at the time the smartphone was released (2016) this is simply a shameful resolution. The pixels are visible when you get closer, which causes the picture to deteriorate a little. It is also worth noting that the matrix used in the smartphone has been outdated for many years - TFT is used. This screen layout was also used on push-button mobile devices.

Today, even the most unpopular Chinese manufacturers make their devices with IPS screens. They are distinguished by greater brightness and richness of colors, as well as high viewing angles. be said about the screen installed on Lenovo Vibe C. In the sunlight, absolutely nothing is visible and you need to make a shadow with your hand so that you can see the image. And in general, the brightness is clearly not enough to use the device normally. It is necessary for the eyes to get used to it, then over time everything will become more or less visible. Viewing angles are also “limpy”; light comes out even when the device is slightly rotated. There is also no light sensor, but let's be honest - not everyone uses it.

However, despite all the shortcomings, you can get used to it and see all the necessary information too. In addition, there is a certain plus - such a low resolution and brightness does not drain the device’s battery much.

Processor, video card and memory

The Lenovo Vibe P1 is powered by a hybrid 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 4 cores of which operate at an “economical” frequency of 1 GHz, and another 4 at a higher frequency of 1.5 GHz and are switched on as needed. This core configuration ensures low power consumption at light workloads and high performance in heavy applications such as games.

The Adreno 405 graphics processor is responsible for processing graphics in games. This, of course, is not the most powerful solution today. However, the smartphone scored 30,800 points in the AnTuTu test, which is enough for most modern games at high graphics settings, and the heaviest ones are guaranteed to run at medium.

As for memory, everything is standard here as for a middle-class smartphone. The amount of RAM is 2 GB, built-in flash memory is 16/32 GB, depending on the modification. The maximum supported capacity of a microSD memory card is 128 GB.

Lenovo Vibe Shot Smartphone: Review

Dimensions - 4.1

The Lenovo Vibe Shot is a compact phone that fits easily in your pocket, which can't be said about a typical camera. In terms of dimensions, the device is similar to the Lenovo P70, only it is slightly narrower and noticeably thinner: 142x70x7.8 mm. The weight is rather average for its diagonal - 142 grams.

The smartphone tries to look stylish and unusual - the combination of black and red colors is perfect, for example, for girls with red nail polish. Thanks to the color of the back and the location of the lens, Lenovo Vibe Shot looks like a camera. The smartphone is similar to the Lenovo Vibe X2: in size, shape and black display frame, slightly protruding from the body. The side frames are quite narrow, but due to the wide margins at the top and bottom, the ratio of screen area to body surface is not the greatest - 69.3%. Two additional buttons on the body can be called unusual - the shutter release and the shooting mode switch (from “Auto” to “Professional”). In the corner of the case you can find a throwback from the last decade - a hole for a strap, a kind of hint of kinship with cameras for which this is more relevant.

But the build quality turned out to be not so practical, despite the use of metal and glass. First, the paint on one of the corners of the Lenovo Vibe Shot began to peel off in spots during our two-week test. Secondly, the camera lens is very close to the edge of the case, risking periodically removing the owner's fingers. Thirdly, when taking a smartphone out of your pocket, it is difficult to determine its front side by touch - it, like the back, is covered with glass.

Lenovo Vibe Shot can be purchased in two colors: red and gray.

Screen - 5.0

The display of the smartphone can be called high-quality - it is clear, bright and protected by Gorilla Glass 3, but at the same time it cheats a little with colors. Screen diagonal - 5 inches, resolution - 1920x1080 pixels (Full HD). Their density is 441 per inch, which is more than enough for a clear image.

The maximum measured brightness (in high brightness mode) is about 530 cd/m2. It is plenty enough for reading outside in sunny weather. At the same time, the minimum brightness also turned out to be good - about 6 cd/m2, which is comfortable enough for reading in the dark. Lenovo Vibe Shot is equipped with a light sensor and auto-brightness mode. It responds quickly to changes in lighting, but has no manual settings.

In the settings you can find several image modes. Viewing angles are rather average for an IPS matrix. There is a glove mode, with which even leather gloves can feel the screen. The fly in the ointment was the color rendering. The colors look clearly oversaturated and unnatural, which is not very good for viewing captured photos.

Camera

Lenovo Vibe Shot is positioned as a camera phone and, therefore, is equipped with top-end cameras (16 and 8 MP). In our opinion, they are still inferior to those of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and LG G4, but they definitely correspond to a high level.

The physical size of the sensor is 1/2.3″, it is the same as that of Google’s flagship Nexus 6P and larger than that of the LG G4 (1/2.6″). The maximum image resolution is 16 megapixels. The camera is equipped with an optical stabilization system, a six-component lens, a triple flash (each with its own color), laser autofocus and a BSI sensor (back illuminated). In general, the list of “chips” is impressive.

As for the triple flash, in our opinion, it does not have any advantages other than increased power. Direct light falling on the subject does not always lead to a good shot. As for the focusing system, it is fast, but slower than the laser focusing system on the LG G4 or LG G3. If you look at it in general, the cameras correspond to the top, flagship level, the pictures are quite clear, but are slightly inferior to the Samsung Galaxy S6 and LG G4. What we really liked was shooting at night, at dusk and in cloudy conditions. In the latter case, it is not even clear that the photo was taken on a stormy day. The camera has high light sensitivity, and although the pictures at night cannot be called ideal, they are much better than those of its competitors. The Lenovo Vibe Shot camera “sees” well in the dark, although the light sources in the photographs “go” into yellow and orange shades.

The smartphone is equipped with several shooting modes, for example, with a long shutter speed (for night photography) or stitching together different frames. The camera can recognize faces and smiles, as well as take panoramas. There is an HDR mode available, in this case the effect of its use is clearly visible - the detail in darkened areas becomes higher. In any case, the difference is noticeable to the eye. As a rule, a smartphone shoots in the “Smart” auto mode, independently selecting the basic shooting parameters or even including HDR. But keep in mind that you can always switch to “Professional” mode. In it you can independently configure all the basic parameters:

  • white balance
  • shutter speed (1/15 to 1 second)
  • ISO (100 to 1600)
  • autofocus range
  • exposure adjustment (−2 to +2).

The ranges and number of settings are not very impressive, especially after the “Professional” mode of the LG G4.

The 8 MP front camera takes great selfies. You can also turn on the panoramic shooting mode or “Decoration”, it works much like on the Huawei P8 Lite - it retouches the skin, but often to an unnatural degree.

As for video shooting, there is nothing unusual here like support for 4K resolution. As usual, Full HD video recording (1920x1080 pixels) at 30 frames per second is available on both cameras.

Working with text - 3.0

The Lenovo Vibe Shot has a standard Google keyboard, with number markings in the top row of keys and Swype support. There is practically nothing more to say about her, everything is typical. There is no marking of additional characters (except numbers), switching between languages is carried out with a separate key. If you wish, you can install any familiar keyboard of your choice from the Google Market.

Internet - 3.0

As usual, Lenovo didn’t play tricks with browsers, and only Chrome from Google is pre-installed on the phone. Its features are typical: scaling text to a pre-selected size and syncing with desktop Chrome. It does not have any special reading modes or special “tricks”.

Communications - 3.8

The set of wireless communications can be called typical for its price.

The only things we can highlight are dual-band Wi-Fi and LTE (Cat. 4). Everything else is as usual: A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.1 and regular Micro-USB 2.0 without OTG, HOST or MHL/Display Port.

In addition, we note support for two Micro SIM cards. Moreover, in this case there is no combination with a memory slot, as is often the case these days when you have to choose between memory and communication.

Multimedia - 3.0

Lenovo Vibe Shot could not please us with support for a large number of audio and video codecs. He produced 4K and 2K video, TS, FLV or MOV videos, as well as music in FLAC without a problem.

Pre-installed video and audio players do not offer a lot of options. For music, this is the standard Google Play Music application with a typical set of settings. And the video player has practically no features other than blocking video viewing.

Battery - 3.2

The operating time of Lenovo Vibe Shot can be called good, it is comparable to the flagship HTC One M9. We managed to hide a 2900 mAh battery in the thin body of the smartphone (almost like the Huawei Honor 6).

It was able to play videos at maximum brightness for 7 hours (almost like the Lenovo Vibe X2), a slightly better than average result. And in music player mode, Vibe Shot lasted about 75 hours (about the same as the Samsung Galaxy S6). An hour of running the GeekBench 3 benchmark consumed 24% of the charge. When playing games, the smartphone is discharged in an average of 3-4 hours. Using the original charger (5 V, 1.5 A), the smartphone was charged in about 2 hours, which is quite typical.

During the tests, the smartphone lasted us for a day and a half under average load conditions.

Performance - 2.7

Lenovo Vibe Shot (Z90-7) is equipped with a slightly above average chipset, but it is enough for all tasks, including demanding games. But the smartphone was given RAM like a flagship - 3 GB.

Lenovo Vibe Shot is equipped with a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 processor (4 cores at 1.7 GHz plus 4 cores at 1 GHz). It easily handles typical smartphone tasks and even heavy gaming. For example, Asphalt 8 or Mortal Combat run smoothly on it and run quite smoothly, only occasionally slowing down.

As for synthetic tests, the phone received the following results:

  • GeekBench 3 - 2705 points (Galaxy S5 received 2836)
  • in AnTuTu 5.7 - 39,828 (significantly lower than Asus Zenfone 2)
  • in 3DMark Ice Storm Unlimited - 8079 (slightly higher than the average Huawei P8 Lite with its 5556 points).

We also checked whether the smartphone gets hot in games - it turned out that it does not. After half an hour of playing Mortal Combat, the temperature of the Lenovo Vibe Shot rose to 41 degrees, this is an acceptable indicator.

Memory - 4.5

The Lenovo Vibe Shot has 32 GB of permanent memory, of which about 29 GB is available to the user. The volume is substantial, but if you use the device as a camera, it will quickly become filled with photographs. For those who like to take a lot of photos and videos, there is a slot for a memory card up to 128 GB. At the same time, some applications can be transferred to it from the device’s memory. Recently, additional memory is often combined with a second SIM card. But in this case, the slot is located in a separate tray and will not force you to choose between connectivity or additional gigabytes.

Peculiarities

Lenovo Vibe Shot runs Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. True, it has been visually redesigned with its own Vibe UI interface, so much so that the difference with the previous version of Android is almost invisible. The smartphone settings are a little confusing, for example, the maximum brightness mode is not in the “Brightness” or “Screen” items, but is hidden in an item called ... “Color Balance”, where you do not expect to see it at all. Features include the design of the model using glass and separate buttons on the body (shutter release and switching between shooting modes) and, of course, a high-level camera.

Wireless technologies

Almost everything is supported from wireless technologies:

  • Wi-Fi (b/g/n/ac, 2.4/5 GHz)
  • Bluetooth 4.1 (A2DP, LE)
  • 2G (GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz)
  • 3G (WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100 MHz)
  • 4G (FDD LTE 1800/2100/2600 MHz)
  • GPS/A-GPS, GLONASS
  • NFC
  • FM (radio)

I would especially like to note the support for Wi-Fi in the 5 GHz band, which is very important due to the congestion of the old 2.4 GHz band. By the way, it works perfectly, even through several walls. Access point mode (Wi-Fi Hotspot) and file sharing with other devices (Wi-Fi Direct) are supported.

Another advantage of this model, even despite the Chinese version, is support for all LTE bands, the Russian GLONASS navigation system and NFC contactless data transfer technology. All this is far from typical of Chinese smartphones.

The navigation module works great. In 10 seconds, the smartphone detects about 20 GPS/GLONASS satellites and connects to more than 10 of them.

A nice addition for some will be a radio receiver, which also allows you to easily and quickly catch your favorite wave

Sensors

The sensor set includes:

  • Light sensor (for automatic brightness adjustment)
  • proximity sensor (turns off the screen during a conversation)
  • accelerometer (for navigation and control in games)
  • electronic compass (for navigation)
  • Orientation sensor (for auto-rotating the screen)
  • Fingerprint sensor (for unlocking)

In general, there is everything you need, plus a fingerprint sensor for counterintelligence. You can only add two fingerprints to the smartphone’s memory, but it works very quickly and accurately.

Cameras

The rear camera for photo/video shooting has a resolution of 13 megapixels (4160×3120), is equipped with fast autofocus and a bright dual flash. Pictures taken in good daylight and artificial lighting are quite good.

The camera app has additional settings, effects and filters.

The shutter release can be assigned to a hardware volume key. It is also worth noting the function of quick shooting with the screen off by double pressing the volume key.

Video shot in Full HD comes out well only in bright sunshine; as soon as clouds appear, the picture starts to float a little.

The front camera with a resolution of 5 MP (2560×1920) does a good job of taking selfies, but the background is not always successful.

In general, the quality of the cameras is at an average level by today's standards.

We recommend that you familiarize yourself with additional examples of high-quality photos and videos, which can be downloaded at the end of the article in the “Links” section.

Sound

We were very pleased with the sound of the built-in speaker, it is very loud! You can enjoy music or video even in a noisy company. In everyday life there is no need to raise the volume to more than half. It's always good to have some extra, because not every video can have a loud soundtrack.

The quality and volume of the speaker is also at an excellent level. The interlocutor's voice is quite clear without distortion. The microphone also does its job; the interlocutors had no complaints.

With headphones, the sound quality is, as always, higher, and the volume reserve is quite sufficient. It is unlikely to please a music lover with red ears, but most undemanding fans will be satisfied.

Battery and autonomy

Here we come to the main feature of the Lenovo Vibe P1, its huge capacity battery – 5000 mAh. Coupled with an economical hybrid processor and Lenovo's proprietary energy-saving technologies, this smartphone has unsurpassed battery life. My friend, who doesn’t play games much, but likes to read books, news on the Internet and listen to music, charges it once every 4 days!

As for other tasks, the Lenovo Vibe P1 can easily withstand 2 days in mixed mode with an average load, including long-term video viewing and games.

Well, in a critical situation or a long stay away from civilization, you can use the economy mode, in which the screen and all electronics switch to reduced power consumption. After sliding a special switch, the screen dims, becomes black and white, and only the most important functionality regarding calls and sending messages remains available.

In this mode, the smartphone can work much longer; the battery charge will easily last for a week, which will be a wonderful gift for travel lovers.

Despite the high battery capacity, the smartphone charges surprisingly quickly - in just 2.5 hours. This is achieved thanks to smart charging. In 30 minutes, the smartphone can be charged by 30%, which is enough for the whole day.

In addition, with the help of an OTG adapter, the smartphone can be used as a charger for some low-power gadgets such as a wireless headset or smart watch.

Bottom line

The smartphone turned out to be, to put it mildly, ambiguous. The advantages include the fact that the device is well built and does not creak in your hands. In addition, it has a good multimedia speaker with good volume and normal sound. It is worth highlighting the package that includes headphones, which means that you don’t have to buy a headset at first. As a positive aspect, we can also highlight support for all wireless networks, including 4G. In general, the performance reserve is enough for ordinary everyday tasks, and battery life is also acceptable.

But the disadvantages far outweigh the advantages. The main drawback is the frankly poor cameras and display. Such a camera can be used only in rare cases, but the display is a complete disaster. The manufacturer installed an outdated low-resolution TFT screen on the Vibe C phone, which was bad even at the time the phone was released. On a sunny day you simply won’t be able to work properly with such a screen.

The phone can only be recommended to those who need a device for making calls and surfing the Internet. For everyone else, there are better alternatives.

operating system

Lenovo Vibe P1 runs on the Android 6 operating system with the proprietary Lenovo Vibe UI graphical shell. The interface is quite beautiful, rich in settings and convenient.

The appearance can be easily changed using themes, which are configured separately for the home screen and lock screen, and in addition to wallpaper and background colors, icons can also be changed.

The top curtain hides a ton of switches that can be added, removed, and swapped.

In general, you can customize almost anything.

Additional interesting features include quick shooting when the screen is off using the volume key, unlocking the screen with a double tap (touch), one-handed control mode, application launch scripts, gestures on the fingerprint scanner, quickly turning on the flashlight, and managing device administrators.

With one-handed microscreen mode, activated with a simple gesture, the screen shrinks to a more convenient size when you need it.

The system allows you to easily manage the operation of applications, monitor their use of battery, processor, memory, traffic, and clean up the system and RAM.

It supports the creation of a safe zone, thanks to which you can experiment with applications or let children use your smartphone without fear of catching a virus or changing some settings. Just turn on safe mode and use your smartphone, and then delete all changes.

Battery life

Considering the not very record capacity of 2420 mAh of the built-in battery, the smartphone does not last long. Obviously, installing a more capacious battery was prevented by the thin, and also beveled, case.

With normal use, a smartphone lasts a maximum of one day, but most likely even one day of daylight in the off-season.

If you are an active user of social networks and the average screen time is about 3 hours, then in the evening you will have to charge the device. He won't make it until morning anyway.

Applications

All the necessary standard Android applications are preinstalled on the smartphone. In addition, there are a number of proprietary applications.

The main one, of course, is a “dialer” with contacts, which does not stand out as anything special. It is simple and easy to use, but has its own quirks in the form of a blacklist and recording of telephone conversations.

Of course, there is a camera, gallery, clock and other application that differs little from those installed on other smartphones, so we will not consider them.

Among the proprietary applications, in addition to those already discussed, we can note a convenient multifunctional explorer with support for different file formats, including archives, and preview of pictures.

The SHAREit application is used for sharing files between smartphones and computers, and SYNCit is used for backing up contacts and other data.

Lenovo Companion can help you diagnose your device and resolve various issues. It also contains various tips, video tutorials, can update the system and create a backup copy of data.

And finally, I would like to note the excellent electronic user manual, which will help inexperienced users quickly and easily master the smartphone.

You can download this guide at the end of the article in the “Links” section.

Software

The smartphone runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop platform. But typically, Lenovo phones have a completely different software and UI look than the operating system because Vibe UI is installed on top of it.

As is usually the case with smartphones from Chinese companies, there is no application drawer. Instead, all programs are accessible through home screens, just like on the iPhone. The app icons that the manufacturer uses for pre-installed and system programs are different from those offered by Google. The Chinese company's branded labels are more colorful, fuller and rounder. If Google icons are placed next to Lenovo apps, it won't look very nice. But this probably won't bother most owners.

The Chinese company has made changes to the quick notification panel, and apps like Settings have been given Lenovo's user interface rather than Google's. When it comes to software and interface design, owners have no doubt that the pure or unmodified Android OS found on phones like the Moto G looks much better.

But when it comes to functionality, the smartphone has a lot to offer: themes, the ability to create your own shortcuts, gestures like rearranging apps when you shake the phone, and much more. Although, according to reviews from owners, they are of little use. For example, why would anyone rearrange the labels every time? After using a mobile phone, owners spend some time searching for icons on the home screen or in the app drawer using muscle memory. But constantly changing their position seems illogical.

Lenovo Vibe P1m firmware includes many programs. CamCard lets you scan and collect business cards, and Cam Scanner does the same for receipts, invoices, etc. It also offers overlapping apps, Evernote and Notebook, that let you take notes. WPS Office allows you to read and edit documents. Twitter and Facebook are also very useful. Even Lenovo's own apps offer a variety of features. For example, the pre-installed programs SHAREit and CLONEit make it possible to share files wirelessly without a Wi-Fi connection or paying for Internet traffic.

The Lenovo Companion app allows you to diagnose problems with your Lenovo Vibe P1m. You can also find answers to frequently asked questions about different phone systems and watch informational videos. In addition, the tool allows you to search for online updates for Lenovo Vibe P1m. But programs like Guvera Music and Tap The Frog are useless and resource-intensive software. Fortunately, there are not many such applications on smartphones. Other phones are simply full of them.

Programs can be grouped into folders. For example, Facebook, Twitter, Skype, WeChat can be placed in the social software folder.

Additional features

For convenience, we decided to combine the most interesting additional features of the smartphone into one section. These include the following quite useful functions.

  • smart brightness (increasing screen brightness in the sun)
  • use with gloves
  • advanced battery saving mode
  • fast charging
  • charging gadgets from a smartphone
  • support for connecting flash drives (USB OTG)
  • recording telephone conversations
  • Fingerprint's scanner
  • unlock screen with double tap
  • one hand mode
  • smart menu (favorite applications panel)
  • quick photo shooting (with screen off)

Advantages and disadvantages

The advantages of a smartphone include:

  • nice and convenient design
  • large quality screen
  • Tempered glass and metal body
  • high performance (for most games)
  • separate slots for SIM cards and memory cards
  • excellent reception of all radio signals
  • support for all Wi-Fi, LTE, GLONASS and NFC bands
  • very loud speaker
  • great autonomy
  • convenient and functional graphical shell
  • a lot of additional features

The disadvantages include:

  • no headset (in Chinese version)
  • Not enough performance for heavy games

The quality of photos and videos corresponds to most mid-range smartphones, without standing out for worse or better. Therefore, we do not attribute this to either the pros or cons of this smartphone.

conclusions

Lenovo Vibe P1 is suitable for users who need high autonomy with fairly powerful hardware. It will be an excellent choice for lovers of an active lifestyle, travelers or those on business trips.

Gamers who are satisfied with life from plug to plug should probably give preference to a smartphone with a more powerful processor, like the Lenovo K3 Note, which we recently reviewed.

Ergonomics

The Lenovo Vibe P1 combines a 5.5-inch display with a very large 5,000mAh battery, which on paper raises some usability concerns. However, Lenovo has done an excellent job in trying to make the smartphone tactilely comfortable and visually compact. The back metal cover is convex, and the side edges are flat, due to which the phone fits into the hand like a glove.

The weight of the smartphone is 189 grams, the weight is evenly distributed, so there are no problems with balance. But the potential owner of the P1 should take into account that the processing of the metal of the back cover has made it not very tenacious, so you will have to hold the rather massive and heavy case firmly in your hands. There are no complaints about the general layout of the connectors and controls; taking into account the size, their location does not raise any questions. The keys on the sides are metal, and their travel is moderately short and quite informative.
