The Lenovo A660 smartphone is the golden mean in the selection of electronic gadgets. It’s not often that you come across models that truly combine an affordable price, high strength, and good quality.

And 660 is an excellent choice for young people. After all, stylish design, low price and modernity will be very useful for students, schoolchildren, and people who are still unsteady on their feet.

Let’s take a closer look at what characteristics speak “for” or against” choosing this particular smartphone.

  • 1 Durability
  • 2 Design
  • 3 Operating system
  • 4 Camera
  • 5 Battery
  • 6 Equipment
  • 7 Dimensions

Strength

Usually, much attention to shock resistance and water resistance is paid only to professional and very expensive equipment. Lenovo challenges this stereotype. It cannot be said that the Lenovo A660 does not burn in fire and does not sink in water. But several interesting parameters were still included. The rubber gasket between the body and the cover makes the device highly dust- and water-resistant. There is nothing to say about the sensational glass for phones, Gorilla Glass. We can only add that the touchpad even senses the touch of wet fingers. More than useful characteristics, it’s hard to argue with that. Craftsmen have already tested all this in practice, and if you wish, you can familiarize yourself with test drives of such equipment for strength. For increased durability, the A660 lacks only a metal case and an additional lock on the lid. But it's unlikely that all smartphone users need their device to survive an encounter with a paver.

Lenovo IdeaPhone A660

Lenovo A660 is primarily positioned as a reliable smartphone. Having protection against dust and moisture (IP67), this smartphone has established itself as a reliable device for people leading an active lifestyle or working in difficult conditions. Despite its modest, by today's standards, parameters (512 RAM), it copes well with the tasks assigned to it - making calls, communicating on social networks and running light games.

Main characteristics

  • SoC MediaTek MT6577, 1 GHz, 2 cores, ARM Cortex-A9
  • GPU PowerVR SGX 531
  • Operating system Android 4.0.4 Jelly Bean
  • Touch LCD display TN, 4″, 800×480
  • Random access memory (RAM) 512 MB, internal memory 4 GB
  • MicroSD card slot up to 32 GB
  • Communication GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
  • Communications 3G UMTS 850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz
  • Bluetooth 2.1+EDR
  • Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g, Wi-Fi hotspot
  • GPS, A-GPS
  • Camera 5 MP, autofocus
  • Camera 0.3 MP (front)
  • Dust and moisture protection (IP67)
  • Li-ion battery 1500 mAh (BL194)
  • Dimensions 125x65x10.5 mm
  • Weight 138 g

Security

The plastic body of this smartphone hides all scratches and during operation you don’t have to worry about its appearance; for a long time it will look like new even without using a protective case. The IP67 degree of protection allows you to immerse the phone in water for a short time, without forgetting to first check the closure of the flap on the top of the device, which hides the mini-USB inputs and 3.5 headphone input.

Autonomy

This model comes with a removable 1500 mAh battery, which, of course, is not very much for a 4-inch smartphone. Under intense load: always-on Wi-Fi, communication on social networks, phone calls within 40 minutes a day, the phone just survives until the evening, however, with a more gentle mode, the phone can withstand two days without recharging.

Screen

The screen on the phone is 4 inches in size and has fairly small viewing angles. This is most pronounced when observing the distortion of colors from the top part - the screen begins to invert colors, which causes inconvenience, however, with prolonged use, this drawback ceases to be noticed and you can work with the phone quite comfortably.

Camera

The phone has a rear camera of 5 megapixels and a front camera of 0.3 megapixels, the quality of both is very low and is not suitable for noticeable digital point-and-shoot cameras. There is no flash, so it is impossible to use the phone as a flashlight.

conclusions

Lenovo A660 is suitable for people who will not install heavy games, will not use the phone as a camera, but love an active lifestyle and want to be in touch at all costs, even while descending a raging river, being confident that the phone will not let them down.

operating system

When talking about Lenovo A660, we can’t keep silent about the gorgeous Android 4.0. It has stability, simplicity, a nice interface, a wide range of capabilities, and a huge number of applications. Applications for Android devices are a completely separate topic. After all, GooglaPlayMarket is able to satisfy the needs of even the most advanced user. Whether you're an artist, a musician, a musician, an avid gamer, a meticulous mathematician, or whatever, there's content to suit every taste. And you can draw, write texts and music, or calculate logarithms on your favorite smartphone. Agree, this already goes beyond the usual scope of pocket gadgets.

Advantages and disadvantages of the S660 phone

The Lenovo S660 measures 68.8 mm wide, 137 mm long and 9.95 mm thick. With such dimensions it is convenient to operate the device with one hand. In addition, the weight of the device is about 151 grams. Even if you operate the device with one hand, its weight is almost not felt.

If we evaluate the overall ease of use of the phone taking into account the size and weight, then there will be no problems with everyday use.

The smartphone is equipped with a 4-core MediaTek MT6582M processor, which is made at 28 nm. technical process.

The smartphone has only 1 GB. RAM, which is quite small. Instances of low RAM will occur regularly, so even when using light applications you will experience instability in operation.

The storage capacity of the device is 8 GB, and if the smartphone is mainly used for correspondence and social networks, then there will be no problems, but if you are going to use it for photography, video shooting and games, you should look at a device of a higher class.

The phone is compatible with SD cards, so you can easily expand its memory. So you probably don't need to worry about storage capacity.

The S660 has a display diagonal of 4.7 inches. The display is large enough that you will rarely have problems with its size. However, this display is not suitable for writing long texts.

In terms of quality, the screen may appear pixelated when displaying a picture or video. It should be sufficient for normal use.

The main camera of the phone has 7.99 megapixels, which should be enough in most cases. However, you may be slightly unsatisfied with the quality of the photos.

Also, the smartphone has a front camera of 0.25 megapixels, which is low. If you care about the quality of your photos, you should consider a higher-end smartphone.

The Lenovo S660 battery capacity is 3000 mAh, which is a relatively large indicator. Compared to other smartphones, the battery life of the Lenovo S660 is good. With this capacity, you won't experience any problems even if you spend time on the Internet or Twitter for a long period of time. Even while playing games or watching videos, you can do so comfortably without worrying about battery life. However, some caution should be exercised when watching movies or playing games for too long.

Battery

Many users are disappointed by the fact that smartphones run out of battery too quickly. Well, if it’s inconvenient for you to charge your phone every day, look for a primitive push-button candy bar. Modern smartphones run a large number of energy-intensive processes simultaneously. To keep all the useful functions at hand at all times, it requires a lot of energy. A 1500 mAh battery allows the device to last about a day without recharging under average load. This is a completely satisfactory indicator for this type of device. Of course, no one forbids you to take an additional battery with you on a long trip.

Dust and waterproof Smartphone Lenovo A660

Hi all! A short quick review of the dust- and waterproof Lenovo A660 smartphone! Please don’t kick me too hard, I ordered the phone from a friend, I only had it in my hands for 2 days!

In short: you can buy it, but in the Russian Federation you can’t buy a secure smart phone for this money! The device is not without its flaws, but everything is adequate and tolerable!

For those who are interested, please see the cut below, there is a little book under the cut, very few photos and a couple of videos...

The phone arrived poorly packaged! Just 1 layer of baby bump and no more protection! Pichal! The box is wrinkled around the edges, fortunately everything inside is intact! This is my third phone from this seller, the reason is simple: it ships via Singapore (18-21 days delivery), always a gift with a case and film... Well, the prices are adequate. But this time the packaging let me down...

Unboxing video:

The kit is quite ordinary:

Box. Waste paper. Charging with adapter for our socket. Stereo headset (I didn’t even take it out of the bag, I guess I can throw it away right away)! USB cable for data and charging.

The gift included:

Silicone case (fits well, quite comfortable!) Film on the screen (I didn’t glue it, there’s a good factory film on the screen)! Card reader! (very slow, and somewhere fell in love with it in a couple of days)

Assembly and design.

The device is assembled just perfectly, monolithic, nothing creaks or plays. The following are purely my thoughts, from the point of view of life experience. The smart is thin and fits perfectly in the hand. The 4″ screen is convenient for use with one hand. But! I would prefer to sacrifice the thickness of the case for at least a 2500mAh battery! IMHO! I was also confused by the lack of bolts holding the case together, connectors for the cable and headphones under the plug...

Honestly, I can’t believe that a lid with regular latches will actually hold water, although there are a lot of videos on the Internet proving that I’m wrong...

On the top edge there is a plug, under which there are connectors for cables and headphones. Near the flap there is a small and inconvenient button to turn on and lock the screen. On the right side there is a volume rocker. There is nothing on the left and bottom edges.

Battery.

1500mAh. It wasn't even enough for a day. I took it off the charger at 7 am, and around 8 pm the phone died completely. 3G turned on only when I needed to go online and watch/do something. No background internet work. About 30 minutes of calls a day, a couple of pictures. Half an hour of games and an hour of reading books. This was all very upsetting!

Screen.

Four-inch TFT matrix, resolution 480x800, viewing angles are good from below, left, right, almost maximum! If you look from above, there are no viewing angles, the picture is inverted. The screen is generally quite bright, the colors are saturated, it is readable in the sun, you can even see something under direct rays.

Performance.

The well-known dual-core processor MTK6577, 1GHz. 512 meters of RAM. Power VR SGX531 is responsible for the graphics. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to take photos of the tests. So in words: Antutu has 6286 parrots. EpicCitadel 30.3 fps.

Sensors: accelerometer, light and ear

Calibrated perfectly, work very well! The light sensor works quickly and changes the backlight adequately! The ear sensor picks up instantly, never dulled. The accelerometer works decently, I tested it mainly in games - it didn’t let me down, I never died... XD

Telephone.

The audibility in the conversational dynamics is excellent. They can hear me well. Even on a noisy street. The call speaker was disappointing. The volume is average. Just solid high frequencies.

Cameras.

The front camera is generally poor. The main camera is acceptable, the pictures are C grade, the autofocus is working. Honestly, there’s simply nothing to talk about here, the camera is just for show.

Bottom line

, theirs is about 4000 rubles. The phone is probably worth it and can be considered for purchase, but I can’t definitely recommend it.

A little more video about the phone.
