Interfaces

WiFi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n, 2.4 GHz, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, access point mode Wi-Fi is a technology for building wireless local networks based on the IEEE 802.11 family of standards. Supported by all modern smartphones and many mobile phones. Bluetooth v3.0 Bluetooth is a universal wireless interface for exchanging data between various types of devices at close range. Can be used for file transfer, audio streaming, network connection, printing and other purposes. The newer the version, the greater the speed and number of supported profiles. Navigation GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS For at least 10 years, smartphones have supported the geolocation function using data from satellite navigation systems. At the moment, these are the American-developed GPS, the Russian GLONASS, the Chinese BeiDou and the European GALILEO. As a rule, smartphones support the first two and optionally the rest. NFC No The built-in NFC module of a smartphone is mainly used for contactless payment in applications like Google Pay and Samsung Pay. Can also be used to read data from contactless cards, transfer files, etc. Read more here. Infrared port No Some smartphones have a built-in IR port. In the past, it was used to synchronize data both between two mobile phones and between a phone and a PC. However, now, due to its low speed, the infrared port is used mainly to control external devices in remote control mode. FM radio No Built-in radio receiver that allows you to listen to radio stations operating in the FM range. In most cases, it only works when headphones are connected, since the wire is used as a communication antenna. However, there are devices with a built-in antenna. 3.5 mm audio Yes Standard audio jack for connecting wired headsets and headphones. Starting in 2021, some smartphone manufacturers, following Apple, began to abandon it. In this case, to connect regular headphones, you need a special adapter for Lightning/USB Type-C. USB Micro USB, On-The-Go The type of USB connector installed in the smartphone and the capabilities it supports.

Lenovo A616 smartphone review

Hi all! Today I want to tell you how to save money. No, I won’t tell you that you need to go buy potatoes, pasta and more, no, I want to tell you about a budget solution for a high-quality smartphone. There are really few such devices today, there are either simply inexpensive ones, there are either simply good ones, and these are often different smartphones, so there is no such device that combines everything. I will introduce you to a smartphone , which, as its manufacturer assures, was able to come close to the symbiosis of a good budget device. And I solemnly present to you the Lenovo A616 smartphone. The “A” line is represented by a huge selection of smartphones. From tiny to phablets with different characteristics, with different processors, but they are all united by the same letter “A” that Lenovo associates with high-quality budget smartphones. And today we will find out whether this device has any advantages in addition to its attractive price.

Display

Taking the Lenovo A616 into my hands, the large display immediately caught my eye , which classifies the smartphone as a phablet. Its diagonal is 5.5 inches, but as soon as I assessed the display diagonally, I had to collect the lip I had rolled out. After all, that's all the screen can boast of. The resolution is small, I would even say critically small, only 480*854 pixels. At first glance, you may not notice the pixelation , but once you get used to the image, willy-nilly you notice small squares - both specifically in a particular picture, and just on icons. Moreover, despite the IPS matrix, when deviations occur, colors are inverted, but if we take the general opinion for this kind of smartphone, the picture is normal, but I say this without a smile on my face. Another problem with the screen can be noticed when watching videos on YouTube. When choosing video quality, the maximum available is 360, despite the fact that the display has at least a slightly better resolution.

Appearance and ergonomics

The dimensions of the device, despite the impressive diagonal, are very neat; specifically, I mean 149.9 mm in height, 77.1 mm in width and 9.2 mm in thickness. The weight of this device was 174.6 grams. In addition, the device boasts a good grip on the hand thanks to perforated plastic. It is this solution that the manufacturer apparently borrowed from Samsung, or rather from the fifth generation of the flagship line, I mean S5. The A616 assortment has only two color options: white and black housing. The instruments were dispersed throughout the building. On the right we have the block and power button, as well as a double volume control. There is absolutely nothing on the left. But on top there is a 3.5 mm headset jack and a USB port. The bottom end is occupied only by the microphone. On the front, in addition to the display, you can see three touch keys and a front camera. Unfortunately, the usual light sensor is not here, and accordingly, there is no automation of brightness adjustment here. On the back of the Lenovo A616 there is a logo, a camera eye, an LED flash and a multimedia speaker. The cover is removable and there is also a removable battery with a capacity of 2250 mAh. Since the smartphone belongs to the “A” line, it has two slots for SIM cards and for user convenience, although this convenience is very questionable - they are different, there is one slot for a Mini SIM card, the other for a Micro SIM card.

Memory

There is also a slot for a Micro SD card nearby. And this is really a salvation because the feature of this device is 4 gigabytes of memory, but not RAM as you might think - this applies to built-in memory, I’m generally silent about RAM, I don’t know how to call this number more beautifully, well, let’s say, RAM in this device 2 to the ninth power. This probably sounds prettier than 512 with the megabyte prefix. You can load anything heavy into this smartphone without using a Micro SD card. But it is worth noting that when purchasing such a smartphone, the user knows that games are the last thing he will do while holding a smartphone. And if he suddenly wants to play, it will be such primitive games as Subway. operating system

Android 4.4 is installed as the operating system, like everything else, this is not a modern platform at all. Paired with Android, the proprietary Launcher is preinstalled. The icons on the desktop are large, but they look stretched due to the disproportionate diagonal and display resolution. But the color scheme is interesting, bright and rich. There are a number of pre-installed applications, the most important ones being Standard Radio, Flashlight, Hotspot, File Manager, Security. The latter allows you to monitor processor load, activate antivirus, and the like. Everything in the settings is ordinary, boring and standard.

Cameras

But the same cannot be said about the camera settings ; everything is more or less interesting here. Having turned the device into a horizontal position on the left hand, we have numerous settings. Here we will find exposure, color effect, shooting mode, white balance and Image properties. On the right we have, the mode control of which is represented by such a list as panorama, normal and auto. And again there’s a catch, there are a lot of settings and they are different , but the quality and resolution of the photo is strictly budget. The main one has 5 megapixels and only has a flash; there is no autofocus. The front one is 0.3 megapixels and it is only capable of transmitting images over a video call. It’s better not to use the main one as macro photography, it’s just that the detail here causes sadness and melancholy. But it records video in HD resolution.

Interfaces

Unfortunately, the smartphone has nothing and cannot boast of interfaces – USB, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Bottom line

But even despite this, I can’t find the tongue to criticize the Lenovo A616, because it is a budget smartphone that provides a little bit of everything. The smartphone is intended for ordinary users and not for mobile technology connoisseurs. This is the highlight of Lenovo’s “A” line.

Well, with this I say goodbye to you, leave your conclusions in the comments about who this smartphone is for. Bye

Lenovo A616 Review

The phone looks good, the display is large, very bright and you can see the picture from any angle. The sound section is also good with well-defined and clear sound. The plastic back cover makes the phone very lightweight. The only foul is only 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of ROM for sharing with the operating system. In my opinion, the price-quality ratio is definitely high. I paid him 59 euros and today I can say that I am very good. I bought a Lenovo a616 at a fairly affordable price, and as a first impression, I can say that it is a very beautiful and aesthetically pleasing smart phone. PS: review from a European
